L3 Lifetime Achievement Award goes to......

NEP

Nep has proven time and time again to be one of the most influential person in L3, with great charismatic skills, he shows no problem in criticizing anyone he wishes to.
He also means what he says,
" I do all the work and I don't put you're name in there "
without a doubt, this phrase is one of the main factor which brought him this award
Besides that, with his British accent and downright-special-pronunciation of the words "Dear God" and also the loud 'up-yours' hand gesture, louder than the guru, Peter, himself..
not excluding his obsession with guys like Jiro Wang and Wu Zun...
It has indeed place Nep one step ahead of the other nominees...I think
Congratulations!

1st Runner Up goes to....

Suzzane

"What have I done to be nominated" she first said.
Guess you don't really have to do much to win, the people of L3 prove this statement true. All you need is looks and a nice personality.
It won't guarantee you first place, but at least you're no where near consolation winners.
Congrats!

As for consolation winners...

heres your trophy..
it ain't pretty but give yourself a pat on the back...

try a lil harder...
*pat pat*

There you have it..the winners for L3 lifetime achievement award..
Thank you so much people for voting

** WARNING SPOILER UP AHEAD!! **
my thoughts on the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

...
......
....
.....
...
.....

So Rowling promised more action in the final book, and she really did deliver more action, but it was somehow still lacking the X factor previous potter books had. The ending of the book was short, as in, there wasn't no build up, everything just happened too quick. DEATHS happened too quick without actually going into details. The whole story was kinda predictable... Snape wasn't bad after all, so? I predicted it.
But, its still a book worth reading if you're a potter fan.
Bah, if I had to give a rating 7/10
Lastly, Albus Severus....what ****-up name is that, pity his son..

So I was at Tesco early in the morning round 7.15 I guess....
Loads of people storm the place to get their hands on the final installment of the Harry Potter series...
The best thing about buying books from hypermart - NO QUEUES!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

With all the boycotting from major book outlets including MPH, Popular, Times...
Personally I don't give a damn if hypermarts such as Tesco and Carefour sell the Potter books below retail price.

Better for us, to hell with the usual retail price RM109!!
If places like Tesco and Carefour can still earn profits by selling at a price of RM69, why can't others follow suit.
So to MPH, Popular and Times, continue with the boycotting for all I care.... it won't make a difference...to me and to everyone else..

Anyway...
Started reading the book since 7.40am..
Gotta take a break for now...almost 2pm...been reading for 6 hours plus..
Control before I end up writing Stupify, Avada Kadavra, Expelliarmus! for my maths exam...
by then...I'll be totally gaga =)

Article from The Star...

Potter price war

MPH, Popular, Harris and Times at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur at 4pm announced that they would not sell Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in protest against Carrefour and Tesco selling the book at a hefty discount.

The recommended retail price of RM109.90 is being violated by hypermarkets advertising and selling it at RM69.90, the bookstores said.

The four chains, with a total of 100 outlets nationwide, said they were protesting the indiscriminate discount and wanted to show customers that they were not "blatantly profiteering" from them.

"This means the book will no longer be available for sale at these stores nationwide from tomorrow (Saturday) following the worldwide release," MPH Bookstores chief operating officer Patricia Chen said.

"All events related to Harry Potter will be cancelled," she said.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows goes on sale nationwide -- well, except for the four bookstore chains above -- from 7.01am tomorrow.

Saturday is near...
21st of July 2007 - The official release of the final book of Harry Potter.
I have to admit, I'm a fan, but not to the extend of camping outside malls in the early mornings...thats just crazy...as if I'm not already deprived of my sleep due to college..
Exams on Monday, assignments due on Tuesday and Friday...
The book is really going to screw me up this time...

As for some...the release of the 7th book hardly means anything...

" Why do you all read Harry Potter, it's the Devil... It won't change your life like 300"
Peter

" I just wait for the chinese version la "
James

" You let me know the ending ya... "
Steph

Yet, to some...it means to world...

" Come la.. I don't mind camping with you... we shop at KLCC till night, have dinner there, then sleep there"
Nep

" Going to off my phone, won't be goin online....If you tell me the ending, I would just kill you! "
LayAi

Guess we're all different...
some of us would injure themselves just to win a game of foosball...
some of us would keep on gambling everyday
some of us realise that the only time for gambling is Chinese New Year..
some of us just get hooked to online games...and i mean really hooked.. people of G9 =)

Anyway my take on the book is... *highlight the following text*

" The last book showed that Snape killed Dumbledore, but in this book, we'll know that Dumbledore isn't really dead. We'll know that Snape too didn't intentionally kill the professor, it was all a ploy to get back to Voldemort's side, trick him, set up a trap. As for the ending, Voldermort will die, but Harry won't. The deaths of others may include - Cho Chang and Ron or one of the other professors. Thats my take of the story "

Some people just don't want to listen to anybody thoughts on the final book you see..so I had to hide it this way =)
SO don't highlight LAY AI!!

Back to college life,
went for a talk on Sexual Harassment yesterday with Peter, Jean, Dinesh...
so the presenter went on talking about women being the discriminated sex,
being portrayed as weak,
defenseless....
4 of us looked at each other after that statement, and only one person came to our minds...
Priscilla..

*sorry for stealing =) ** pic replaced due to certain political reasons **

" She broke my nose " Dinesh
" She injured my eye " Peter
" She hit you without any reason " Terrence
So how can you say women are the weaker sex now...
blaming everything on men...not right la..

Thats all for now la..
take cares people...

Only Human
K
OST for 1 litre of tears

On the opposite coast of sadness
is something called a smile

On the opposite coast of sadness
is something called a smile
But before we can go there,
is there something we’re waiting for?

In order to chase our dreams, we can’t have a reason to run away
We’ve got to go, to that far away summer’s day

If we find it tomorrow, we can’t sigh
Because like a boat that opposes the stream
we have to walk straight on

In a place worn down by sadness
something called a miracle, is waiting
Yet we are still searching
for the sunflower that grows at the end of spring

The warrior who awaits the morning light
before he can clasp it with red nails, his tears glitter and fall

Even if we’ve grown used to loneliness
only relying on the light of the moon
We have to fly away with featherless wing
just go foward, just a little further

As the rainclouds break
the wet streets sparkling
Although it brings only darkness
A powerful, powerful light
helps push us to walk on

The Mongolian model story that not many people know about,
what you don't find in the papers...

"The Conspiracy"
shorten version
~by 'What Did I Do To You'

The following is an article in The Star...

Najib will not issue statement on witness’ claim
KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will not issue any statement on the claim by a witness linking the picture of the deputy prime minister in the ongoing murder trial of Mongolian beauty Altantuya Shaariibuu at the Shah Alam High Court as it could be sub judice to the case.....

However, the picture was not shown in court.

The following articles are from Malaysian Today...

Najib and Altantuya: A picture connects them
Months of conjecture in Malaysia about the relationship of Deputy Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak to Altantuya Shaariibuu have been heightened by testimony Friday of Altantuya’s cousin, Burmaa Oyunchimeg, that she had seen a photo of Najib having dinner with the Mongolian beauty and Abdul Razak Baginda, who is accused of arranging for her murder.

Najib has repeatedly denied any knowledge of Altantuya. A spokesman said Saturday that he won’t answer any questions concerning her because he has never met her. Nonetheless, opposition leaders Anwar Ibraham of Parti Keadilan and Lim Guan Eng of the Democratic Action Party both pounced on Burmaa’s testimony, demanding he explain the photo, which the woman said she had seen but did not produce.

Although he has never been questioned or asked to testify in the murder trial, Najib appears to be linked to nearly everyone involved in the case – the two policemen accused of murdering her, and political analyst Abdul Razak, and now Altantuya herself.

The two policemen charged with carrying out the killing are part of an elite force close to Najib’s office. A third suspect, who may be a Najib family bodyguard, has been left out of the case, while the slain woman’s father has repeatedly said his daughter was privy to details of official corruption .
...
.....
...
At the time of Altantuya's death, Abdul Razak was head of the Malaysian Strategic Research Center and a close advisor to Najib. He was arrested as a suspect in the murder, along with Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri and Constable Sirul Azhar Umar. The two have usually been identified in local newspapers as members of an elite police unit, the Bukit Aman Special Action Force, under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Security, which is headed by the Prime Minister, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

In fact, however, Azilah was head of Najib’s personal security team. In an affidavit filed in December in his defense, Abdul Razak said he had contacted Azilah through Musa Safri, Najib’s aide-de-camp, to ask for help in dealing with Altantuya, who by that time was demanding money to care for a baby she said Abdul Razak had fathered.

Another mysterious figure in the case was a woman constable who was mentioned in earlier news reports as “helping police in the investigation into the murder.” She was named for the first time Friday as Lance Corporal Rophaniza Roslan, 29, who said she was off duty the night of Altantuya’s disappearance and was keeping Azila company at the police headquarters in Bukit Aman when the call came in to go to Abdul Razak’s home. News reports aid the woman helped to put Altantuya into the red Proton Saga car that drove her away for the last time.

The rumor mill has it that the policewoman is a bodyguard for Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor. The private investigator hired by Razak, P. Balasubramaniam, testified that that a man and a woman were with Azilah when Azilah drove Altantuya away. However, he said he could not recognize the two other individuals.

Najib has been asked at press conferences repeatedly about allegations of his involvement in the crime, which also has been the subject of vocal charges by Anwar Ibrahim, the former Deputy Prime Minister and current leader of the opposition reform party, Keadilan Rakyat Malaysia (People’s Justice Party). Najib has just as repeatedly denied any involvement.
...
.....
...
In another development, Uuriintuya testified that she remained in Malaysia after the murder, although Namiraa returned home to Mongolia. When Uuriintuya attempted to leave later, she said her entry had been expunged from Malaysian immigration computers. Uuriintuya testified that Namiraa returned home without a problem, but when she tried to leave with Altantuya's father on Nov 24 more than a month after the murder there was no record of their entering the country.

Our entry was deleted in the immigration computer,” she testified. The woman banged the witness stand and added: “There is no record of me coming to Malaysia through Beijing. Why?”

Altantuya’s father, Stev Shariibuu, a Mongolian academician, has held numerous press conferences in Kuala Lumpur, repeatedly denying that his daughter was a part-time model, as she had been portrayed in the press, but instead was an accomplished translator who had accompanied Abdul Razak on several business trips. He claimed to reporters that she was killed because she “knew too much” about deals involving Abdul Razak, particularly one involving the purchase of submarines for the Malaysian government through a company in which Abdul Razak holds a significant interest. The 2002 purchase is reported to have netted Abdul Razak a healthy commission from the Malaysian government.
..
...
..
Najib might be able to shed some light on the matter. But it seems the court has no stomach for calling him to the stand.

Guilty conscience

There is only one explanation for Najib’s past denials and his present silence–guilty conscience. If Najib’s conduct with respect to the case has been above board, there is no reason whatsoever for him to deny acquaintance with a good friend’s (Razak Baginda) friend (Altantuya). Similarly, if the allegation of the picture is false, it is inconceivable and totally incomprehensible and irresponsible that Najib should have chosen not to refute Burmaa’s allegation.

In fact, Najib was so worried about the publicity of the picture that his secretary called editors of the local press, and requested them not to blow up the issue. This has resulted in this explosive story staying clear of the headlines on the next day (June 30), and the name of “Najib Razak” not being identified as the DPM in Malay and English papers. (In one Chinese paper – Guang Ming – This Najib story hit the headline in the front page in the evening edition, but disappeared completely from it in the day edition next morning, June 30). And of course, Anwar Ibrahim’s criticism of the trial and his specific call on Najib to clarify on the picture during a press conference was generally blacked out.

However, despite such suppression of news, irreversible damage is done. There is little doubt that Najib is deeply troubled and his political position seriously weakened.

Manipulation

That this murder case has been subjected to serious political manipulations is obvious from the very start when police commenced its highly questionable investigation, right through to the present trial stage when the conduct of prosecutor and defence lawyers appears increasingly dubious. Instead of prosecutor seeking the truth and defence lawyer fighting to defend the accused as their prime objectives, both seemed to be pre-occupied with an over-riding mission – to prevent the whole truth from emerging. Their combined efforts to cover up issues of immigration record erasure and identity of Najib Razak in the picture are just two examples of such conduct.

The highly irregular nature of this case was also marked by frequent and mysterious changes of legal personnel, resulting in the complete change-over of defence lawyers, prosecutors and judge even before hearing began. These weird phenomena were crowned by the shock appearance of a new team of prosecutors who were appointed only hours before the hearing was supposed to begin, thus necessitating an impromptu postponement of hearing for two weeks.None of these changes of legal personnel has been properly explained, except for the first accused’s lawyer (Zulkifli Noordin) who quit because of “serious interference by third parties”........

Is everything just a coincidence?
Honestly, I think not.
Right now, denial is only way to answer the accusation.
Not for long, the truth shall unfold, one way or another.
We shall all wait and see..
