Dr M quits Umno

ALOR STAR: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced Monday at 12.35pm that he is quitting Umno, citing a lack of confidence in the current leadership.

He said this during a talk here on Monday.

He has been critical of his appointed successor Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, blaming the current Umno president for the party's disappointing performance in the 12th general election.

The ruling Barisan Nasional coalition, of which Umno is the largest component party, won the March 8 election with a simple majority, and saw four more states join Kelantan under Opposition rule.

Dr Mahathir urged other party members to quit too, as a way of pressuring Abdullah into vacating his post.

However, he advised those who do quit not to join any opposition party, adding they can all rejoin the party once there is a change in leadership.

Abdullah has so far refused all calls for him to step down, and said he would defend his presidency in the party polls in December.

last weekend..
went for a club's grand opening..
"Urban Nights"
at Hotel Exchange..

and...
it was the worst club i ever went to in Melb...
no atmosphere...
small place...
its grand opening only had...150 people?
we went home after 2 hours..
a weekend night wasted =P


so far though...
my weekdays have been all planned out...
normal routines...

they were really nice..

the last time i had a chinese cuisine was during the eve of chinese new year..

and on Saturday...
it was off to the movies for..

IRONMAN!!

well...it was my first time watching a movie here in Melbourne...
the first thing i liked about the cinemas here is....
THEY CATER FOR PEOPLE WITH LONG LEGS!! THANKSS!!!
unlike back home...
GSC's leg space is really crap..but..
definitely better than TGVs.




The last time i watched a movie at TGV - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
I had cramps...
my knee was practically touching the person's head in front of me..

back to the movie...

IRONMAN was nice..
way more than what i had expected from a marvell movie..
so no complains for me =)

JienHoong, KahHo, TatRen decided to spend time in Melbourne during the semester break..
the last night...
had a gathering at my place...
Ming, Peter, KahHo, TatRen, Jia-Li = knocked out..

and where do I stand? no where...decided not to drink that night...had 9am classes the next day..

so few of us decided to go last week..

surprise party...
it was Marie's birthday on Saturday...
a long time neighbour of mine back in Malaysia..
together with Pei Jean and Benny..we went to verf for the surprise party..
needed a passkey to go everywhere in verf..
so without one we were stranded out in the cold for a couple of minutes..
everything turn out well in the end..
had like few people telling me how they thought i was my brother...
"u look like my friend" ......okay....all cleared up in the end =)

HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY MARIE!!

so we went out for dinner...
at this restaurant which i don't even know the name..
but the guys claimed it as my bro's desert house...

we all expected the portions to be huge...
